Family Swimming
Children are introduced to the water and learn to enjoy swimming through play. A variety of swimming exercises are practised based on the child’s age and skill level, both in a group and with individual guidance, including gliding, floating, blowing bubbles and diving. Children also learn how to move confidently in the pool environment and take part in a group.
Skill requirement: No previous swimming experience is required for either children or adults. Designed for up to two children aged 1–6 from the same family and up to two adults, such as parents, grandparents or other trusted adults (one child per one adult).
Please note — These children’s swimming lessons are taught in Finnish.
The goal of family swim classes is to introduce children to a variety of swimming equipment, support their motor development and provide a strong foundation for learning to swim. Family swim classes make swimming a fun and safe activity for the whole family to enjoy together.
Once the child becomes comfortable in the pool and is ready to join a swim class without a parent present, they can continue swimming in level Veteentotuttelu or Alkeet 1.
Each session lasts 30 minutes, including time for putting on swim vests if needed, brief updates with parents, and the handing out of diplomas.
