- What is FitPit?
FitPit Oy is a swimming service company founded in 2015. FitPit teaches swimming to adults and children of all ages and abilities.
Private pool facilities
We use only private pool facilities in our lessons. There are no other public customers swimming in the same pool during our swimming courses and swimming schools so that you can focus on your own learning.
Small group sizes
We keep our group sizes moderate in swimming courses and swimming schools so that we can guarantee individual guidance and coaching. There are no more than 10 people in our swimming courses and swimming schools.
FitPit has already moved more than 17 000 customers, with more than 200 000 guided lessons!

FitPit’s Charity Work in Zanzibar, Africa
FitPit carries out swimming education and marine conservation training in Zanzibar, Africa, as part of its charity efforts, aiming to combat overfishing and ocean pollution in the future.
The "Swimming Changes Lives" project was launched in May 2021 as a pilot initiative, and in May 2023, we returned to Zanzibar. We taught the local community essential swimming skills for safety and trained them to understand the importance of protecting the oceans — in total, we trained 30 new swimming instructors in Zanzibar!
FitPit is taking action to fight climate change
FitPit wants to be as responsibly as possible in everything that they take part in
Climate change is real and we need every individual, company and organization to take part in preventing it! FitPit makes sure to do their part everyday with everyday choices on both a smaller and larger scale. Each acquisition is thought through and we map out the ecological alternatives before making a purchase decision. We have minimized the use of paper already by 90% and our goal is to quit using paper completely in the near future. We recycle our waste and choose to use ecological detergents. We use heating as little as possible, our lamps are LED-lights and we don’t heat the saunas during the summer at our locations. We search for solutions every month on how we could lower our emitions as a company.
Influencing and training are important to us and we see as an important part in fighting climate change. We do charity work in Africa by giving swimming lessons and giving training in ocean protection in order to discipli e over fishing and littering the seas. You can read more about our charity project here.
What can I do — Measures from a customers point of view
A 1-2 minute shower is enough.
I use up all of my equipent and don’t buy new ones until the old ones are completely worn out.
I rent the equipment for the openwater courses unless I am sure that it will develope into a hobby.
I use public transport to get to the training location.
